The kit
Fermentation made easy.
The setup is easier to trust when every part has one clear job: pack the vegetables, help hold them below the brine, and give fermentation gas a path out.

EasyGrip glass weights
A glass weight helps hold packed vegetables beneath the brine. The raised grip makes the weight easier to remove from a wet wide-mouth jar.

Water-filled airlocks
Fermentation produces gas. The airlock gives that gas a path out while helping limit outside air intrusion.

Four color-coded lids
Olive, beet purple, clay orange, and umber make different jars easier to identify at a glance.

Acacia tamper
Use the tamper to pack vegetables and reduce large air pockets before adding the weight. Hand-wash the wood tamper.
Included: 4 color-coded lids, 4 clear airlocks, 4 EasyGrip glass weights, 1 acacia tamper, 8 grommets including 4 spares, and the Quick Start Fermentation Guide e-book. Jars are not included.

A solid all-in-one bundle
It arrived quickly, the items felt high quality, and I liked having everything together in one bundle.
Keeps my kraut under the brine
I set one on top of the cabbage in my mason jar, and it keeps the sauerkraut below the brine. Simple and useful.
A cleaner fermentation routine
The lid is doing its job well. I no longer have to burp the jar, and the process has been much less messy.
Just right for homemade kraut
My canning jars are now set up for kraut with this kit, and it has been a great match.
The easiest weights of the three I tried
This was my third brand of fermentation weights. The first had a recessed grip that was too slick. The second had a rectangular tab, but all four weights arrived chipped after coming loose inside the shipping box. These were different: the mushroom-shaped grip gives me something I can actually hold when lifting a weight from the jar. Each piece also arrived protected in its own cushioned section. Of the three brands I tried, this is the one I would recommend.
Quality you can feel
The materials feel substantial.
My first kraut batch turned out great
The kit feels well made and arrived fast. I used it for my first sauerkraut batch, and the result was excellent. It did exactly what I expected.
No complaints here
Everything was fine with the set.
Promising build quality
These look like the sturdy lids I was hoping to find. I have not fermented with them yet, so this is only a first impression.
Effective, with a few things to watch
This is my second airlock-lid style. It asks for a little more attention than the first, but I check new ferments often anyway. When I leave too little headspace, active brine can rise into the airlock and overflow, so I change the water and work trapped bubbles out of the jar. Because the liquids can mingle in that condition, I try to correct it quickly. I considered using saltwater in the airlock for the first few days but have not tried it. Once, bits of cabbage clogged the airlock neck because I used only weights instead of an outer cabbage leaf. The good news is that the design rinsed clean easily. Every part fit my wide-mouth Ball jars, including pint, quart, and half-gallon sizes, and the airlock worked as intended. My sauerkraut showed no mold during several weeks on the counter. I switch lids and remove the weights for refrigeration, so I cannot comment on the stoppers. I like the weight design, though a little more heft would help keep cabbage down during the most active stage.
Quick help when I needed it
A minor problem came up, but help arrived quickly. The lids themselves have been great, and I'd buy another set.
Great for small jars of pickles and onions
I use these lids on standard one-quart wide-mouth jars for cucumbers and onions. They make a firm seal and have been a dependable option for my small batches.
A good fit with one price caveat
These fit all of my wide-mouth jars, both old and new, with enough room to set them in and lift them out. The center tab is easy for me to hold. They were packed securely, and none broke even though the box took a beating inside an outer shipping bag. I have not had any chipping or cracking so far. My only complaint is that the second set cost more than the first.
The weights did not fit my jars
I bought the set mainly for the glass weights, but they would not fit through the openings of my jars. I only realized afterward that I had regular-mouth Mason jars, while this set is made for wide-mouth jars.
My pick after trying several lids
After trying several fermentation lids and airlocks over the years, this is the set I would recommend. The lids fit wide-mouth mason jars and suit kimchi, pickles, and other home ferments. The airlocks let gas escape while the jars stay closed. The parts feel sturdy and are easy to wash. They are approachable for beginners and useful for experienced fermenters too.
A clear second batch
The weight keeps the vegetables below the brine, and the airlock covers the jar during fermentation. The pieces feel well made and clean up easily. My first dill-pickle batch spoiled after the cucumbers floated to the surface. With this setup, my next batch was still crystal clear after a week.
Simple and effective
These are not the most substantial lids I have handled, but they are straightforward, fit my wide-mouth jars, and get the job done. With careful handling, I expect them to last. For what I paid, I am satisfied.
No surprises
Delivery was prompt, and the weights matched the product description.
The right choice for my tiny kitchen
I was nervous about fermenting in my small New York City apartment, so I spent weeks comparing lid and airlock designs. I am glad I chose these. My batches turned out well, and I have had no mold, rust, or other problems.
A beginner-friendly set
Everything in the set has worked for me: the weights, the vented tops, and the fit on my wide-mouth mason jars. I would be comfortable handing this to a beginner, and it is useful even if you already ferment.
Sturdy enough for sauerkraut
These have been just what I needed for keeping sauerkraut down. They feel solid, and I was happy with the price.
A better first result than my old lids
I replaced my old pickle-pipe lids after I kept getting mold in the jars. My first batch with these has stayed mold-free so far. I am looking forward to trying more ferments and will update this if anything changes.
Easy and practical
The setup is uncomplicated and useful.
Fits now, ferment test later
The lid fits my jar well. I have not put it through a batch yet because I am waiting for harvest.
Good for small vegetable batches
I ferment vegetables in smaller quantities, and this set suits that scale. Shipping was fast, and the components made a good first impression.
A good product
My experience with the product has been good.
Thoughtful coverage for a first ferment
I am new to fermenting and watched a lot of videos before starting. Many weights I saw left a wide gap around the edge, but these cover nearly the whole width of my jar, leaving little room for pieces to float up. I cannot say how important that difference is yet, but it feels like intentional design. I plan to buy more when I need them.
Useful during garden season
I ferment a lot of vegetables from my garden, and I put these lids to work as soon as they arrived. After washing them, I could leave the jars alone instead of opening them to burp. When the batch was done, hot soapy water removed the ferment smell. The parts feel sturdy enough for regular use. I bought a second set and may add another before the next harvest.
Matched what I needed
I got this for a particular fermentation need, and it delivered the result I expected.
Just what my sauerkraut needed
Since starting sauerkraut, I needed a better way to hold the cabbage down. These give me the heft I was missing, fit the wide-mouth jars I already own, and clean without fuss.
Easy setup, but the gasket tore
The kit is easy to use and the idea is good. On my first try, though, the sealing ring that connects the lid to the airlock tore, so I could not get a tight seal.
Sturdy lids for garlic and honey
The lids went onto my wide-mouth jar easily. After cleaning and drying, they still felt solid. I’m using them for a garlic-and-honey ferment and would order another pair if I needed it.
My first sauerkraut came out perfectly
I used this for my first sauerkraut batch, and it turned out exactly as I hoped. The package was protected well and included spare small pieces. Even with wet hands, I could lift the glass weights, and they passed through my wide-mouth jar with a little room on each side.
A grip that works
The center grip is thoughtfully shaped and easy for me to use. These weights have performed well.
A secure lid that handles the pressure
I've used these lids for kimchi and pickles, and they've worked well every time. The airlocks let pressure out on their own, and everything comes apart for cleaning. They feel sturdy, and I think a beginner would find them just as straightforward as I did.
A chipped weight, quickly replaced
We had not tried the kit yet, but the materials and packaging made a strong first impression. One glass weight arrived with a small chip, and Elementi sent replacement weights right after we emailed. The order was on time, and the customer service was excellent.
The handle my half-gallon jars needed
My crocks could not keep up with this year's pickling cucumbers, so I put some batches into half-gallon jars. Improvised weights were awkward, especially with recent trouble in my hands. The knob on these is easy for me to place and lift without feeling like it will slip.
Useful in the jar, and on the desk
These help keep fermenting vegetables down in wide-mouth jars as the vegetables release water into the brine. When I'm not fermenting, they can double as paperweights. You get the idea!
Easy fermentation, but switch lids for the fridge
My first batch with these lids was fermented garlic, and it came out really well after a little more than three weeks. The lids and airlocks were straightforward to use. I wouldn't keep them on for refrigerator storage, though, because the fermentation odor can get into the fridge. I switch to a regular mason-jar lid with cling wrap underneath.
No more towel over the jar
I wanted something more controlled than covering my sauerkraut with a towel, and these lids did the job. I could see the liquid in the cap and check whether anything needed attention. The pieces separate for washing, which matters a lot to me, and the small, lightweight parts are easy to store afterward.
A welcome helper
I'm glad to have it for my food ferments.
Nice color and a good fit
It fits my mason jar well. I also like the color and how it's made.
A big yes for wide-mouth jars
I'm very happy with it.
Fácil de guardar y bien presentado
Se nota la calidad tanto en los materiales como en el empaque. Se guarda sin problema y hace lo que debe.
Just what was described
The lids feel well made and matched the description.
The kit that made my first ferments manageable
I’m new to fermenting, and my early tries without weights or vented lids were a mess. With this kit, the process has been much easier, with no mess or mold in my batches. The support was excellent too, and I’d recommend the kit.
Glass weights that look as good as they work
I use these glass weights for sauerkraut in wide-mouth mason jars. They fit well, press the cabbage farther down, and are broad enough to cover the food. The glass hasn't added any smell or flavor. I also appreciate the thoughtful foam packaging for storing them between batches.
Useful and surprisingly pretty
They do their job, with an unexpectedly elegant glass look.
A solid little kit
It feels well put together and does its job.
A go-to for kimchi and more
I’ve put these weights to work on kimchi as well as plenty of other ferments. Big fan.
My first fermentation lid setup
These lids were a great fit for my first ferment. They sit snugly on wide-mouth mason jars, and the small slit lets gas out so I don't have to release pressure by hand. They're simple to use, and I plan to keep using them for future batches.
Well made, with one fit caveat
The weights feel sturdy, clean up easily, and came in packaging worth keeping for storage. One tip: when I add dry calcium chloride, I shake the jar before adding the weight because liquid can collect around the handle recess and lower the level. Mine fit Kerr wide-mouth jars, but one older, heavier Ball jar would not let the weight pass through its neck.
They made the missing seal right
The set itself was simple and functional, but one lid came without its rubber sealing ring. Elementi answered quickly, shipped a pair of replacement lids, each with a seal and airlock, and later checked that I received them. That follow-through moved my rating from four stars to five.
I only had regular-mouth jars
I only had regular-mouth Mason jars at home, so the lids did not fit. I had overlooked that this set is made for wide-mouth jars.
Kept my first kraut batch submerged
My first sauerkraut batch is done, and the weights fit my jars while keeping the cabbage under the brine throughout. The glass feels durable, cleans easily, and didn't affect the taste. They might double as small paperweights, but fermentation is what I bought them for.
Works well and looks good
They did what I needed, and the color was a nice bonus.
A kit I keep reaching for
My radishes, cucumbers, and carrots have each had a turn. Using the kit has been simple, and I'm delighted with it.
The right weight for sauerkraut
They have enough heft for sauerkraut in my mason jars, and I like that they're glass.
Check every weight before fermenting
I tested only one weight when the set arrived, then discovered after the return period that the others would not slide through my wide-mouth quart jars. One became stuck in the neck, and the jar broke while I was trying to free it, so I lost that batch of sauerkraut. Only one of the four fit, and even that one caught slightly. I raised my rating to four stars after Elementi offered replacement weights and worked to make the problem right. My advice is to test every piece in an empty jar while returns are still available.
Meets my needs
I'm satisfied with how the lid performs.
Much better than my old setup
I've fermented many foods, and these weights have worked very well. Before this kit, I covered the jar with cloth and tried to hold everything down with whatever heavy object I had; about half those batches failed. I'd recommend this setup.
Good heft and solid glass
This is the substantial glass piece I was hoping for, not something fragile. Whether I add another set will depend on how much canning I do.
The right size for my jar
The weight goes into my jar and works as intended.
Two favorites, one kit
I've put the three-piece kit to work on two favorites. It handled the peppers for my hot sauce, and I use the weights to hold kimchi down while it ferments. I'm happy with the purchase.
A straightforward first use
I'm new to this kit, so it's early yet. Up to now, it has matched the description and felt uncomplicated.
Easy to use for pickles and kraut
I've been happy using the lid and weights for pickles and kraut. Cleanup and setup are both simple, and everything sits properly on my wide-mouth jars. The thick plastic gives me confidence they will last, and I plan to purchase another set.
Useful beyond kraut
I've had good results using this kit with sauerkraut as well as other foods I ferment.

Before you order
Still checking the setup?
Which Mason jars fit?
The lids fit wide-mouth Mason jars only. They do not fit regular-mouth jars. Jars are not included.
How do I get the Quick Start Fermentation Guide?
The physical QR access card packed inside the kit gives you access to the included e-book.
What does the glass weight do?
It helps hold packed vegetables beneath the brine. Your recipe still determines how much salt and liquid to use.
What does the airlock do?
Fermentation produces gas. A water-filled airlock gives that gas a path out while helping limit outside air intrusion.
Do I still need a recipe?
Yes. Follow a trusted recipe for salt, temperature, timing, and storage. The kit provides the physical setup for packing, submerging, and venting the jar.
Does the kit guarantee every batch?
No. Fermentation still depends on the ingredients, salt, temperature, timing, cleanliness, storage, and recipe you use. The kit makes the physical setup clear and repeatable.
What can I ferment first?
Fermented dill pickles, sauerkraut, carrot sticks, and homemade kimchi are practical places to begin. Choose one trusted recipe and follow it from preparation through storage.
Is this for quick vinegar pickles or canning?
No. This kit is designed for salt-brined vegetable fermentation in wide-mouth Mason jars. It is not a canning system or a shortcut for quick vinegar pickles.
Is the kit dishwasher safe?
Hand-wash the acacia tamper. Follow the care instructions supplied with the other components.
Why are there four lid colors?
The four colors make separate jars easier to identify at a glance when you are testing different vegetables, seasonings, or start dates.
Product fit, contents, and care details reflect the current Elementi Fermentation Kit specification.
